Here are some of the most common questions I get about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, contact me.

Choosing the right therapist is a deeply personal decision, and I want to make that process easier for you. That’s why I offer a 30-minute consultation to talk about what you’re looking for in therapy and determine if my approach aligns with your needs. During our conversation, I’ll explain how I can help you work toward your goals. If it doesn’t seem like the right fit, I’ll gladly help you explore other options. Either way, you’ll leave the call with something valuable. You can schedule a free 30 minute consultation here.

My practice is fully virtual, allowing us to connect no matter where you are. While I don’t offer in-person sessions, I provide therapy through video so we can interact in real time, seeing each other’s faces and engaging in meaningful conversations-just as we would in person. A Good Faith Estimate is a document we review before your first session. It’s a way to ensure transparency about the cost of therapy upfront, so there are no surprises when it comes to costs. If you have any further questions I’m happy to address them in detail during our free 30 minute consultation.

The timeline can vary based on your unique goals & personal history. It also depends on whether you opt for weekly appointments or an EMDR intensive.
Weekly Therapy: Many clients begin to notice changes within just a few sessions, especially with EMDR’s targeted approach. My clients typically resolve a single trauma memory in 8-12 weekly sessions. The average client spends 6-9 months working with me to achieve their goals.
EMDR Intensives: Clients are typically able to achieve their goals after one intensive (lasting 3-5 days). Some clients opt to repeat intensives a few times a year as a means of self-care.

If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. For mental health crisis calls you may also contact the Suicide Hotline at 988.
For non-emergency matters you may leave a message by phone or email and I will get back to you as soon as possible (usually within 36 hrs)

Weekly Therapy:
If necessary, please remember to cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. You will be charged the full session fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours or if you no-show your session, because you own the hour.EMDR Intensives:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time you book your Intensive. The remaining 50% is due on the first day of the Intensive. You will be charged the full fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours or if you no-show to your intensive. -
While I don’t offer stand-alone sessions, I design my approach to be flexible and efficient. If you’re interested in short-term work, my EMDR intensives may be a good fit—they’re designed to target specific challenges in fewer sessions. You can learn more about intensives here.

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse you for my detailed receipts (Superbills). It’s best to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to learn the details about your specific plan.
Make sure to ask questions like:
Do I have a deductible for out-of-network services?
Have I met my deductible?
What CPT billing codes do you reimburse (i.e. 90837 or two 90843 in one day)?
What is the rate of reimbursement for each billing code?
What is the allowable amount for reimbursement?
Here is a helpful resource: The Complete Guide to Out-Of-Network Reimbursement.
